TIB Making a Difference in Kids Lives
TIB Bank joined the Take Stock in Children (TSIC) mentoring program in 1999. As a community partner that dedicates volunteer time and gives monetary donations throughout the year to school education and sport programs, TIB encourages its staff to become involved and to help make a difference in the lives of the students they mentor. Throughout Monroe County, the Take Stock in Children Program held special events in May to recognize the dedication and commitment of their volunteer Mentors. Each Mentor received a Certificate of Appreciation. The students in the program were also recognized for completing another successful year. The event marked the end of the TSIC Mentoring program for the 2009-2010 school years. TSIC programs are established in every Florida County. Mentors are key to the success of the program, providing motivation, guidance, friendship and support and the mentors are encouraged to continue their service over a multi-year period.
